Love Misunderstood

When love arrives in a person’s life that human vessel which delivers that love is suddenly adored and glorified, and a demigod is created out of that person. People then start praying to their partners with words like “I’m nothing without you” or “I can’t breathe without you” or “I just started living when I met you” – such “prayers” will take you to an unsatisfactory place.

According to the Bible in the book of Mark 10:8, when you marry someone “the two will become one flesh so that you are no longer two, but one flesh” but in the book of Jeremiah 17:5 it says “Thus says the LORD, “Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind and makes flesh his strength, and whose heart turns away from the Lord.” This is true for believers and non believers.

Do not forget where you come from and what you were created to do – your life should never revolve around a mere mortal because that person is dust and one day they will return to dust, what then will become of you? Misunderstanding love and its implications will lead a person into darkness.

Do not give credit of your existence to a human being even though the love they’ve given you has turned you into a better person, rather thank God for showing you His love through that person. When you love a person you love the God in them, you become each others mirror into which God can look at Himself and admire His beauty.

The love human beings express to each other has it’s flaws because we’re exposed to both the good and the evil sides of life – it’s not a perfect love, we’re not yet in heaven where only goodness prevails.

Live by this prayer – “God you love my partner, help me to love him/her the same way you do.” A person who has a good relationship with the Almighty makes the best lover.
